Sapientia University hosted SZAKÁL Imre, vice-rector for research and international relations of the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University. During the meeting held on March 9, 2026, TONK Márton, rector of Sapientia University, held consultations with the representative of the Berehove-based institution.

The discussions focused on the possibilities for further developing cooperation between the two institutions, particularly focusing on the expansion of student and faculty mobility programs. The parties reviewed new mobility opportunities within the framework of the Makovecz Program and renewed the standing Erasmus+ cooperation agreement between the two universities. This meeting contributes to strengthening professional ties between Sapientia University and Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University, while further deepening the strategic cooperation among Hungarian higher education institutions across the Carpathian Basin.

 

Mentor teacher meeting in Miercurea Ciuc – sharing experiences for future educators

Trainers’ Training at Sapientia University

SapiRun – In Motion for a Cause
On May 21, we ran over 150 kilometers together during SapiRun – In Motion for a Cause, organized by the Student Organization of the Faculty of Sciences and Arts, Cluj-Napoca. The event brought together over 50 participants, and together we raised more than 2500 RON in donations to support the Assisted Living Center for Adults with Disabilities, operated by the FEBE Foundation.

Human Identification Using Modern Methods – Professional Field Trip
From June 23–27, 2025, students and lecturers from Sapientia University participated in an international training program within the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) at the University of Prešov, Slovakia.

Dialogue on the Future of Teacher Training – Professional Meeting in Sfântu Gheorghe
The event was co-organized by the Teacher Training Institute of Sapientia University and brought together leaders of public education institutions from Sfântu Gheorghe, school inspectors from Covasna County, as well as faculty members from the Faculty of Life Sciences and Sports of Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania.

Planetarium in Miercurea Ciuc: Sapientia University Opens New Laboratory (Press Release)
A unique educational facility opened its doors on June 16, 2025, as Sapientia University inaugurated a planetarium at the Faculty of Economics, Socio-Human Sciences and Engineering in Miercurea Ciuc. The spherical dome will serve not only the university’s students, but will be open to high school groups, local residents and the general public as well, who will have the opportunity to attend themed projections and engaging presentations.

Together for Science in Transylvania – Sapientia Event within MTA200
On May 15, 2025, Sapientia University organized a conference at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest in honor of the 200th anniversary of the Academy.
